Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data the Android app Notifications Forwarder (the “App”) accesses, how it uses that data, how it protects it, and the choices available to you.
1. Data the App accesses
- Google account identity: your email address, so the App can show which account is connected and address an email copy to that same account.
- Google Drive files created or opened by the App: the App creates a folder named “Notifications Forwarded,” creates Google Sheets files inside it, finds those app-created files, and writes forwarded notification or SMS details to them.
- Gmail send access: the App sends an email copy of a forwarded notification or SMS to your own connected Google account. It does not read, modify, or delete existing email.
- Device content and permissions: depending on features you enable, the App can process SMS messages, notification content, sender/contact information, source app names, timestamps, and links.
- Advertising data: Google Mobile Ads may process device and advertising identifiers under Google’s own policies.
2. Google OAuth scopes and purpose
The App requests only the following Google OAuth scopes:
.../auth/drive.file— create, find, open, and update only Google Drive files that the App creates or that you explicitly use with the App. The App uses the Google Sheets API under this per-file authorization and does not request broad access to all of your spreadsheets..../auth/gmail.send— send the forwarded content as an email to your own connected Gmail address.- Basic sign-in identity/email scopes needed to connect and display your selected Google account.
The App does not request permission to read your Gmail inbox or unrestricted access to all files in your Google Drive.
3. How data is used
Data is used only to provide user-facing forwarding features you explicitly enable. All message sources and monitoring are off by default. The App processes only sources you select after you tap Start Monitoring, places a copy in an app-created Google Sheet, and sends a copy to your connected Gmail address. Opening the App, granting permissions, or completing OAuth does not start monitoring. Google account data is not used for advertising, credit decisions, surveillance, or any unrelated purpose.
4. Sharing and transfer
The only third party with which Google user data and forwarded content is shared is Google, through the Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Gmail APIs, solely to provide the forwarding features you request. The developer does not receive, sell, share, transfer, or disclose Google user data to advertising networks, data brokers, analytics providers, or any other third party. Google Mobile Ads is separate from the Google Workspace forwarding features and does not receive Gmail or Google Drive content from the App.
5. Storage and retention
- No developer backend: the App does not upload Google user data or message content to a developer-operated server.
- Your Google account: forwarded copies remain in your Gmail and app-created Google Drive files until you delete them using Google’s controls.
- Temporary device state: a pending link-capture record can include message content and is kept in Android private app storage for no more than approximately two minutes, then consumed or cleared.
- Local operational log: the App keeps a private on-device diagnostic log that may include timestamps, source names, sender labels, links, and error details. The log is capped at approximately 512 KB and rotated, can be cleared from the App, and is removed when the App’s data is cleared or the App is uninstalled.
6. Security safeguards
- Google API traffic is encrypted in transit with HTTPS/TLS.
- Google authorization is performed with OAuth 2.0 through Google sign-in; the App never asks for or stores your Google password.
- OAuth credentials are handled through Google Play services and Android account APIs. The App does not write access tokens to its diagnostic log.
- Temporary records, preferences, and logs are stored in Android private app storage and are not exported to other apps by default.
- The App uses least-privilege Google scopes and limits Drive access to app-created or user-authorized files through
drive.file.
No security measure can guarantee absolute protection. Keep your device locked and updated, and revoke access if you no longer use the App.
7. Your controls and deletion choices
- Disconnect or revoke the App at Google Account → Third-party access.
- Delete emails and app-created Sheets/folders directly in Gmail or Google Drive.
- Clear the local diagnostic log from the App’s log viewer.
- Clear the App’s storage or uninstall it to remove local App data.
- Disable Android SMS, contacts, notification-listener, accessibility, or notification permissions at any time in system settings.
- Tap Stop Monitoring to persistently disable monitoring. The App will not resume it after reboot unless you tap Start Monitoring again.
8. Google API Services User Data Policy
The App’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
9. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect children’s personal information.
10. Changes
This policy may be updated when the App’s data practices or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published.
